On the sidelines of the 59th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulov held a meeting with a delegation from Saudi Arabia led by Mohammad Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of Acwa and Chairman of Vision Invest.
The meeting followed high-level engagements, during which the delegation had earlier been received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the discussions, particular attention was given to the development of modern tourism clusters, including the integration of energy solutions, transport and logistics infrastructure, as well as the application of advanced urban planning approaches.
As a result of the meeting, concrete agreements were reached on establishing a joint working group, developing a practical action plan, and identifying priority investment projects.
Mr. Abunayyan expressed interest in further deepening cooperation and invited the Uzbek delegation to participate in an investment forum in Riyadh in October 2026.
It was also emphasized that the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, along with the country’s high level of security and openness, create favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects.
